History
we met nearly a year ago through Cyber Space(facebook). We shared the passion of Free software and Gnu/Linux.Unlike me,Merwan was pretty familiar with Gnu(a 6 year experience ) However,I was fond of programming and crazy about the Lxde desktop; It was not that hard later to convince him to try Lxde especially after seeing some of my customizations. After tweaking the Lxde for a while, he suggested to make our own distro showing the power of this desktop environment. Since distro upgrade is a real nightmare for most users(backup issues etc) and installing additional softwares after a fresh install of even "an out of the box distro" is pretty boring and tiring(development tools for programmers,advanced graphic tools for designers etc) we have decided to build a "real out of the box distro". Building a distro is just a dream for people like us..And then,Salam OS was born!
